Good use of unemployment

I never had the "nesting" instincts until week 39. And it has hit me hard. I have been out of control. I went through every closet organizing and throwing everything away! I cleaned everything from the window seals outside on the second floor to inside the lighting fixtures. And most importantly the house is bug and dust free for this little baby. There are a few times in my life when I can say I feel completely caught up on everything: cleaning, groceries, projects, needs, wants, etc. and I feel like I can say that now. It is such a good feeling! In fact I remember the last time I felt like that and it was the week after I graduated from BYUI.

Anyways this next week is dedicated to making mom memories (she flies in tomorrow night!) , taking care of my body (I'm getting my first pedicure!!!!) and hopefully going into labor! I am dilated to a 2-3 and 50% effaced. I've been spotting the last few days and have felt a few contractions everyday. I'm not really scared or nervous anymore. I'm just excited! I'm ready for her and can't wait to meet her. You prepare and are taught your whole life about being a wife and mom and my chance is just around the corner! Don't worry, (for all those moms who are determined to keep telling me of the sleep deprivation and baby blues.) I know that it isn't going to be easy and there won't be a lot of sleep involved with the first few weeks but that is nothing compared to the feeling of loving something so innocent and dependent.

Ok enough of the mushy stuff, I have ....forced..... myself to get out of the house this week. But it was well worth the adventures. Dev and I went to the St. Theresa Fair at a local cathedral. We had the famous stuffed cabbage (which was disgusting) and played bingo with the most superstitious grandmas I've ever seen. It was pretty fun.

I also went to Cinema at the Park. They play an outdoor movie at parks around Pittsburgh. This night was Iron Man at Schenely Park. It was really cool. There were about a 1000 people that showed up (thanks Jess for saving a great spot), we brought some good treats and blankets and at dusk they turn the movie on. I was pretty uncomfortable by the end of the movie but my favorite part was seeing the fire-flies in the trees all around.
