I was pretty dissapointed they wouldn't let me go on our segway tour but we still got to see everything! Next time!
We saw the white house
Saw George Washington's jacket and all of the first lady's inagural ball dresses at the Museum of History
Went to the top of the Washington Memorial
Saw my favorite Memorial: Abraham Lincoln's (someone had just commented on how big I was and that I was walking around so much and there were about 50 people watching me stand stupidly infront of my favorite memorial. Everyone had the "you are pregnant" sympathy smile so Dev jumped in the picture to make me feel better.) Dev, Ani and Daniel were so patient with my SLOW walking! Sometimes it was good to be pregnant here (I got us into a few things and people soften on the rules for you) and sometimes it was really annoying (swollen feet, individual searches through security, no segways, and stares!)
We ate at and were the minority at this amazing noodle restaurant and then went to a frozen custard place that was to die for. DC has AMAZING food!
Went to the Korean and FDR's Memorial
We went the National Archives and saw the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Magna Carta, Shaq's shoes and a 200 million year old dinosaur print.
And we walked around a lot!
We toured our first light house at sunset
We spent a lot of time at the beach. Dev caught some serious waves and I held down the fort with amazing senerey, a good book and my best friend....our umbrella. I burned the first day but am happy to report no peeling!
We watched dolphins every morning during breakfast
We rented bikes for the boardwalk and found a 30 foot statue of Dev
We went to the National Marines Museum and did a lot of exploring of Virginia Beach
Then we found Jamestown on our way home. We took a little detour coming home but it was beautiful and we had a lot of fun. It was hard not to act like retards with 500 kids running around us at the fort.
We owe a lot of thanks to our amazing hostess: Ani. She spoiled us and it was really fun to spend time with Daniel. And it was really fun to be at the beach with the Tearlinks, thanks for making the hotel/trip affordable!
