Well besides getting the mortgage, home insurance, moving arrangements and school loans and deadlines accomplished.......
First we went to a one-year-old birthday party for Bentley Taylor (our friends' dog)! It was a BBQ with 7 dogs, balloon volleyball, a blow-up dog trampoline and a birthday cake with his picture on it! It was really fun! Good job Shantay!
Next, Tanner and Carson got their Eagle. They planned the whole court of honor. It was on the river with fireworks and pictures of them with actual eagles. We are proud of them and Julie! Dev did a great job at the charge.
And Independence Day! We started the day off well with Dev's 3 on 3 tournament. They didn't win but should have! I just love the little home-town brawls that are bound to happen between the players/parents and the refs. Congrats to Scott for getting a 19 on the DAT and nice smile bud!
We watched the IF and Menan parade with friends. We were devastated that they don't hand out chocolate milk anymore. I would like to point out Tonka, our friends' mastiff. Spelling? He is 180 lbs and 1 year old. He is a beautiful dog and it was kind of fun to see everyone stare in amazement at the dog!
Then we took the boat out to Dev's secret spot!
After a basketball tournament, water skiing and walking around all day Dev was a good sport! Poor kid was zonked but we went to the Maleluca firework show. I must have been really excited for the fireworks or something in this picture.....
Now this has a lot of memories for us:
-It is where Dev and I hung out for the first time. He was itching to hold my hand but settled for the arm around the shoulder. His sister Ani was about a foot away!
-It is where we got back together after the dramatic breakup
-The island that the fireworks shoot above is also where he proposed
So it was fun to re-live those memories walking down the river/temple road eating dutch oven! I love you honey and I'm glad you finally decided to marry me!!
Then we took all of the four-wheelers and motorcycles we could find on the farm and went up to medicine lodge. It was gorgeous. Olivia (Devin's 8 yr old sister) and I were about 2 times slower than everyone else but we had fun, thanks to Julie and Jim! Olivia would start chanting, "I think I can, I think I can," on some of the steep hills when she could feel me tense up!
And to top the weekend off, Dev took me to the farm! We hauled and leveled some dirt. I hope that Dev never looses his love for farming!
Some people make fun of red necks, well we brag about it! When my husband comes home covered in mud, with irrigation boots to his knees, a john deer hat on crooked, a screw driver sticking our of his back pocket and a huge grin on his face I can't help but laugh, hug him and compliment him on how hard he worked that day! The stories on the farm that he comes home with are a different story. He has been in a three, grain truck accident that knocked down a telephone wire and caught a field on fire to being electrocuted by a pivot. I love my red-neck and thank Heavenly Father everyday that he is still alive!
And I only have two more days of work here! Yeah! I have learned a lot and finally feel confident that I can figure out almost anything with technology. But I am very excited to get a more stable job in Pittsburgh where I can really start to be the sugar momma!
